The London Action Resource Centre (LARC) is a collectively run building providing space and resources for people and groups working on self-organised, non-hierarchical projects for radical social change. The resources of the building include:
- a mainhall area with chairs and couches, a small kitchenette with tea making facilities, used for meetings or small gatherings
- an office space with chairs, desks and internet facilities
- a rooftop garden
- a radical reference library that overlooks the mainhall area
- a banner-making and tool space in the basement
If you’d like to get involved in the running of LARC or if you’d like to book a space for your group or have any questions please get in touch with LARC via our email address larc [at] riseup [dot] net and/or phone the number listed on the right. You can also drop by at our monthly meetings to propose using the space. LARC has regular open monthly meetings for all users of the building every first Wednesday of the month from 7:30-9:00pm.
Please have a look at the guidelines for booking and using the building which can be found on the About page.
LARC is part of the UK Social Centres Network – a grass roots initiative to establish a network between self identified radical independent social and community centres in the United Kingdom. There is no single policy statement but a general desire to improve communication and co-operation between the growing number of autonomous spaces to share resources, ideas and information. For more on a social or resource centre near you or the network in general see: www.socialcentresnetwork.wordpress.com
LARC also has many community groups in its membership (including reading groups, support groups, legal aid groups, yoga, mixed martial art skillshares, DIY radio) and more are always welcome.
